The Dell 15-inch series of LCD monitors provides many with a reliable computer display, but as with any complex computer, a number of problems can arise that can affect its performance. Your Dell 15 inch LCD monitor may encounter some issues with its power supply, brightness settings, screen open/close sensor or even inverter cable, but luckily all these issues can be fixed in quick order with nothing more than a Phillips screwdriver.

We have a list of best laptops of 2022 on Desktop Man. Have a look now.

Instructions

Step 1 Look over the power and cable connections for the Dell 15-inch LCD monitor and make sure no connections have become loose. Make sure the monitor is securely plugged into the computer tower if you are using an external monitor with a desktop computer. If you have a 15-inch LCD screen built into a Dell laptop, make sure the AC adapter is plugged into both the back of the laptop and into the power outlet and that it hasn’t become loose.

2 Adjust the brightness of the Dell 15-inch LCD monitor. Sometimes the monitor brightness can be accidentally set to its lowest point. Your Dell 15-inch LCD monitor will have dedicated monitor brightness settings on the bottom of its face if it is an external monitor model or, in the case of a 15-inch integrated laptop display, your laptop Dell will have glow keys above the numeric keys at the top of the keyboard.

3 Investigate the “LCD Close” switch on your Dell 15-inch LCD monitor. If the screen is built into a Dell laptop, there will be a light, plastic, pin-shaped switch that acts as a sensor to determine if your Dell laptop is open or closed. Sometimes this switch gets stuck in the closed position, affecting the operation of the backlight. Locate this switch — which resides next to the left or right display hinge on your Dell laptop model — and press it repeatedly with a thin object or your finger to try to spring it back into the “open” position.

4 Check that the inverter cable for your Dell 15-inch LCD screen is in place. The cable from the inverter dictates the backlight operation of the monitor. To make sure it’s not loose, locate the screws that run along the perimeter, or “bezel,” of the monitor. Depending on the exact model of the monitor and whether it is a stand-alone or built-in laptop, it may have these screws on its back face or its front face, and may or may not be covered by plastic or metal caps for aesthetic purposes. In this case, pop the covers off and then use a Phillips screwdriver to remove all the bezel screws.

5 Pry up the bezel of the Dell 15-inch LCD monitor and locate the black inverter cable at the bottom center of the screen. It should work and be plugged into the inverter cable connector on your left. If not, reconnect the cable to the connector and lock the connector down by placing it in a horizontal position.
