British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has visited Kiev for the second time since the start of Russia’s aggression in Ukraine. He arrived in Kiev on Friday without giving any advance notice. He then met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He also offered to launch an army training exercise for Ukrainian forces. News Reuters.
Earlier this month, Jelensky welcomed Johnson, who survived a no-confidence vote, as a “good friend.” Johnson also shared his joy of visiting Kiev for the second time through social media.
According to the British Prime Minister’s Office, Boris Johnson proposed in a meeting with Zelensky to launch a major training campaign. According to the proposal, 10,000 soldiers will be given special training every 120 days.
“The purpose of my visit today is to send a clear and simple message to the people of Ukraine in this deep war situation,” Johnson said. The UK is with you and we will be with you until you win.
“That is why I have proposed to President Zelensky a new military training program, which could change the equation of this war,” he said.
