Redmi devices are affordable, budget-friendly devices from Xiaomi. Earlier they launched phones in the 8-9K budget under Redmi Series. Now they are trying to capture the low budget market of 4-5K range. Xiaomi Redmi 4A is one device from Xiaomi in 4-5K range, which is surely going to top the list of best Android phones below 5k.
Design and Display:
Xiaomi Redmi 4A is a beautiful phone and has the dimensions of 139.5 (H) x 70.4 (W) x 8.5 (T) mm. It is a thin device, light weight and weighs only 131 grams. It will be available in Rose Gold colour in the beginning, but they will add more colours in the future.
Xiaomi Redmi 4A has a 5-inch display which is not much common in 4K budget phones.Xiaomi Redmi 4A comes with a High definition display. Xiaomi Redmi 4A lacks Full High Definition which is alright as the price of the phone is really low. For a HD display, Xiaomi Redmi 4A has a great pixel density of 294 PPI. Xiaomi Redmi 4A uses IPS LCD display but lacks any screen protection. It is better to use a screen guard or tempered screen with the phone. The screen to body ratio of Xiaomi Redmi 4A is 70.01%.
Talking about the display, it features a metal body with a screen size of 5 inches. The area above the display has 5 MP front camera which lacks LED flash. The area below the display has three capacitive buttons with back key on the right side. There is no physical home button in this device. Xiaomi Redmi 4A has usual Xiaomi controls with power button and volume button on the right side of the device. The power button lies below the volume buttons. On the left side is the hybrid SIM slot. The top of the devices houses a 3.5 mm jack and the bottom houses a micro USB connector.
Flipping the phone, the back side of the device is non-removable. It houses a 3120 mAH battery and has 13MP primary camera at the back. There is also an LED flash next to it. This device lacks fingerprint sensor.

Xiaomi Redmi 4A uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 MSM8917 chipset which is perfect for the budget.Xiaomi Redmi 4Aruns on Quad core, 1.4 GHz, Cortex A53 processor. It has Adreno 308 for graphics which is alright. Xiaomi Redmi 4A also comes with a 2 GB of RAM which is usually not found in this price range.
Software:
Xiaomi Redmi 4A runs on Android Marshmallow(6.0.) out of the box. It doesn’t yet have Android Nougat. Xiaomi Redmi 4A has its own MIUI on top which gives additional options to modify the software.
Camera:
Xiaomi Redmi 4A has a 5 MP front camera which lacks auto focus and flash. Xiaomi Redmi 4A has the aperture of 2.2F and is great for selfies and video chats.

Storage:
Xiaomi Redmi 4A has a low internal storage of 16 GB but it is expandable up to 128 GB via a hybrid slot. Hybrid slot is the one where you can either use two SIM cards at a time and no memory card or one SIM and one memory card. You cannot use all three together. If 16 GB is less for you and you are a dual SIM user, keep this in mind while buying the phone.
Battery:
Xiaomi Redmi 4 A has a great battery of 3120 mAH. Xiaomi Redmi 4A has a Li-Polymer battery which is non- removable. Unfortunately, it doesn’t support fast charging.
