Medvedev is currently the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia. He gave this warning in a telegram post.
Medvedev writes, “I saw a message … Ukraine wants to buy liquefied natural gas (LNG) from foreign owners with money. This gas will have to be supplied in two years. Otherwise, the country will freeze next winter.

He further wrote, “The question is who said that Ukraine could even exist on the world map in two years?”
Meanwhile, Mikhailo Podoliak, an aide to the Ukrainian president, expressed outrage over Medvedev’s remarks. He tweeted, ‘Ukraine has, was and will be. The question is, where will Medvedev stay in these two years? ‘
Russia launched an attack on Ukraine on February 24. Currently there is a fierce battle between the two sides over control of the eastern Donbass region of Ukraine. Medvedev question is whether Ukraine will be on the world map at all
The leaders of the two countries were also involved in a war of words outside the battlefield.
Medvedev has been seen making offensive remarks before the Ukraine war. He says Western sanctions on Russia mean an economic war against Moscow.
Russian forces have already taken control of several areas in eastern and southern Ukraine. However, President Volodymyr Zelensky has vowed to regain control of all territories lost to Western-armed Ukrainian forces.
