Surah Falaq

There are 114 chapters in the beautiful Quran, in which Surah al Naas and Surah al Falaq is the last chapter of the Quran. The chapter An-Nas meaning is “The Mankind”,  and awas revealed in the holy city of Mecca. Surah Al-Falaq, means “the Daybreak” or “Dawn” in English. 

It is also commonly referred to as the “Verse of Refuge”, in which we seek refuge from Allah.

Surah Al-Falaq is believed to be Meccan, which means it was revealed while the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) was in Mecca. 

In the verses, the Prophet and the Muslim world – is advised to seek refuge with Allah from all forms of evil in this world. So from this perspective, this is the Makki Surah.  The Surah consists of 6 verses and it is so easy to memorize.

Why was Surah Al Naas and Surah Al Falaq Revealed?

Our creator loves us so much more than we can humanly imagine. He wants us to prove our love for Him by fighting against our biggest filthy enemy, Iblees. To help us in our battles he sent down the miraculous beautiful Quran. Hence, all chapters of the our beautiful Quran were revealed for a specific reason and purpose. If you want the Quran to benefit you and your family in your life on earth. It only becomes essential to understand these purposes. So you can apply them to your all current situations.

God revealed Surah Falaq to our Prophet Muhammad pbuh in Medina. In this Surah Falaq  God orders His prophet to seek refuge in Him from any bad evil that exists in this world of His creatures. Moreover, God asks the Prophet pbuh to seek refuge in Him from the bad evil of witches who curse people by blowing on knots, and finally, from the jealous.

Surah al Falaq and Surat Al-Nas also Called Mu’awwidhatayn 

Surah al Falaq and Surat Al-Nas share a common theme. They are, referred to as Mu’awwidhatayn. They were revealed as a cure for the black magic that the Prophet (SAW) had been bounded by some enemies. The two verses are composed of eleven verses altogether, and with the recitation of each verse, the eleven knots of the bow were unknotted. The Prophet (SAW) thereby was freed from the shackles of the black magic.

Virtues of Surah al Falaq and Surat Al-Nas 

Surah Nas for Black Magic:

The reality of black magic nobody can denied. In this modern era where blood relatives get envious of their closed ones. You are more vulnerable to attacks from bad evil jinns who work for their evil masters.

Nowadays these are very common among the people. Surah al Falak and Surah Nas are a gift to us by Allah SWT. Which we can use to seek His refuge from internal and external evils. The whispering of the Satan, attacks from jinns, evil eye of those around us, jealousy and envy are all poisonous enemies that these beautiful chapters can safeguard us from.

Remedy from Sickness

The beloved wife of our Prophet (S.A.W) Hazrat Aisha (R.A) is reported that : Whenever Allah’s messenger became sick. He would recite (Surah al-Falaq and Surah al-Naas) and then blow his breath over his body. Whenever he became seriously sick, I used to recite (these two chapters) and rub his hands over his body hoping for its blessings. (Sahih Bukhari)

Recite Surah Al Falaq reward worthy of Hajj and Umra

The Holy Prophet is said that whoever recites Surah Al-Falaq during the month of whole Ramadan during any of the prayers. It is as if they have fasted in Mecca and will get the reward for performing both Hajj and ‘Umra. MashaAllah 

Hajj is one of the required pillars of our Islamic faith, we must try and understand the gravity of this statement. That the power of this Surahs is as powerful as performing the holy pilgrimage of Hajj.

CONCLUSION:

Surah al Naas and Surah al Falaq is a very short Surah , so it can easily be memorized by anyone. Once memorized, it takes only a fraction of a minute to recite it. Imagine that. A fraction of a minute and you will be blessed with rewards unparalleled! MashaAllah
