1. Introduction

Greece is a European country located in the south of the continent on the Mediterranean Sea. It is a member of the EU since 1952 and has also a part of the Schengen agreements. The country’s tourism sector is among its main income sources. Indian visa for Greek citizens and Indian visa for Croatian citizens are some of the bilateral agreements between Greece and India. Indian visa for Greek citizens allows Indian citizens to visit Greece on a valid Indian passport, while Greece’s visa policy towards its Indian citizens is more flexible than to its Croatian ones. On the other hand, Greek citizens can visit India on a valid Greek passport or a Greek national identity card. However, if they intend to stay longer than three months in India, they must obtain an additional document—the Schengen visa. Greece and India have signed twelve bilateral agreements regarding their national identity cards.

When visiting Greece with an Indian passport, Indian citizens can enter the country without any problems as long as they have a valid passport. They don’t need to apply for an extension of their stay or any other documents needed to prolong their stay in Greece. For example, when visiting Athens, most Indians prefer to stay at either Hilton Athens Grand Hotel or Crowne Plaza Athens Heraklion Port as it offers excellent services at reasonable prices. Travelers from other countries visit Greece on their own as well; however, they usually apply for an extension of their stay before traveling there with their passports being valid for less than three months from the date of departure from their home country. To do so, they must contact an agent and pay some money for applying through the Greek Consulate in their home country. Greek citizens can visit India on a valid Greek passport or a Greek national identity card but they need to obtain an additional document —a Schengen visa – if they intend to stay longer than three months in India. Before traveling to India, Greek citizens should contact the Hellenic Consulate General in their home country where they will be required to submit some documents required by that consulate such as an application form requesting permission to extend their stay in India and another form with details about their health status and other relevant data required by that consulate (such as photos). Once all documents are submitted and processed by that consulate— which may take several weeks—the extension request will be sent to New Delphi where it will be passed onto the relevant authorities before being handed over to the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ministry will then process this request according “the provisions of international law” giving each citizen equal rights according each other citizen regardless of origin or citizenship (see Agreements ). Once this request has been processed by New Delphi, it will be forwarded to Mumbai where it will be delivered directly to each respective citizen by authorities at that local consulate depending on his/her address provided during processing at home .

3. Conclusion

Although both countries have signed many agreements regarding issuance of national identity cards, Greeks have more opportunities compared with Indians when traveling with an Indian passport due to flexible conditions applied when traveling with a Greek one or when applying for an extension of your stay in Greece if you intend staying there longer than three months with your current one.. It seems that both countries agree that “equal treatment” according “equal rights” is not only important but also realistic considering historical facts regarding discrimination against non-European people by certain European states— see recent events in Europe regarding immigrants.
