An animated series that embraces its dark nature does not hesitate to deliver punchlines and one-liners with gusto, making the time fly by with laughter as quick-witted lines fly by quickly.
Kiff is sure to please fans of Adventure Time and Regular Show alike. This buddy comedy follows squirrel Kiff and her bunny bestie Barry as they embark on various adventures together.
1. Inspector Gadget
Inspector Gadget was one of the earliest cartoons to use stereo sound and it made an immediate difference. With his array of gadgets – some more inventive than others – Inspector Gadget always manages to solve cases successfully, while his vehicle the Gadget Mobile transforms into various forms and includes plenty of features as well.
Penny was Gadget’s tomboy niece who helped with his cases secretly, with love from her beloved pet Brain, although she often appeared quite ignorant despite having such an enormous brain. Gadget was known for his incredible good luck which defied all expectations as a heroic hero.
Chief Quimby was Gadget’s short-tempered boss in this show and appears to take some inspiration from Ernst Stavros Blofeld from James Bond films. Other henchmen often appeared disguised, though rarely recognisable from their appearance in disguises. The original series ran from 1983-1986 before giving rise to several spin-off series and films.
2. Young Justice
Young Justice was created by Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti as an animated series for teens ages 13-15 in the DC Universe’s fictional universe of Super Heroes and Villains from DC Comics. Following missions given by their mentors Nightwing, Superboy, Robin, Aqualad, Miss Martian, Kid Flash and Artemis strive to prove they possess what it takes to become true heroes while dealing with personal and romantic problems of their own.
The show’s tie-in comic further explores its characters and histories, starting out as a two-parter in 2009 before becoming a monthly series. Furthermore, video games were developed for 3DS consoles as well.
Subplot of Secret, an ethereal metahuman who begins to uncover her darker side. While learning more about herself and the afterlife, Secret is captured by Granny and brought back to Apokolips for meetings with Darkseid – leading them into an epic clash against a formidable new opponent: Mighty Well-Endowed.
3. Phineas and Ferb
Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher are determined to make the most out of their summer vacation, whether that means building a roller coaster or becoming musicians. Meanwhile, Perry the Platypus acts as their secret agent against Dr. Doofenshmirtz, while their older sister Candace attempts to cause mischief by reporting back on them to Mom and Dad.
Phineas and Ferb and Perry have long been beloved characters on TV series Phineas and Ferb. Dee Bradley Baker – best known for her roles on American Dad and as numerous alien creatures in Ben 10 – voices Perry; since he can’t talk, he communicates via his distinctive sound.
Phineas or another character will usually ask “Where is Perry?” This leads to him entering secret chutes or entrances to some underground base, receiving instructions from Major Monogram (Jeff “Swampy”) Marsh, then quickly returning back out again in time to help Phineas and Ferb defeat Doofenshmirtz.
4. Kiff
Kiff, created by South African creators Lucy Heavens and Nic Smal (Space Chickens in Space, Caillou), follows Kiff, an optimistic squirrel whose best intentions often turn chaotic, as she embarks on endless adventures together with Barry the sweet bunny friend in Table Town (a bustling mountain city filled with animals and magical beings).
Although Amphibia or Milo Murphy’s Law feature more complex characters, each episode still conveys a clear and enjoyable message. For instance, “Pool Party” shows Kiff hypnotizing Barry into swimming at Candle Fox’s pool party but inadvertently getting them both on TV; simultaneously Helen, an overly confident school witch who thinks her dancing will get her onto TV only to be kicked off due to her tacky performance, eventually gets kicked off due to its uninhibitedness.
